How We Work
The heart of Rotary is the club, which is supported by Rotary International and The Rotary Foundation.
Rotary Clubs bring together dedicated individuals to exchange ideas, build relationships, and take action.
Belonging to a Rotary club gives men and women an enjoyable and organized way to make a contribution to their community. Rotary members meet regularly to plan club, community, and international service activities. By using their skills and expertise globally, members also enhance their professional network, career development, and cross-cultural understanding.
In addition, Rotary clubs sponsor other service clubs and groups that broaden our reach:
• Interact, for young people ages 12-18
• Rotaract, for young people ages 18-30
• Rotary Community Corps, for non-Rotarians
Rotary Clubs are non-religious, non-political, and open to every race, culture, and creed. Members represent a cross-section of local business, professional, and community leaders.
Rotary International supports Rotary Clubs worldwide by coordinating global programs, campaigns, and initiatives.
The Rotary Foundation uses generous donations to fund projects by Rotarians and our partners in communities around the world. As a nonprofit, all of the Foundation's funding comes from voluntary contributions made by Rotarians and friends who share our vision of a better world.
Together, Rotary Clubs, Rotary International, and The Rotary Foundation work to make lasting improvements in our communities and around the world.
With our diverse global membership, Rotary channels its efforts and commitment through Avenues of Service and are the foundation of club activity. Within each avenue, a variety of Programmes define the projects we engage in.
For Rotary’s larger regional and international projects which are supported by funding from The Rotary Foundation, six specific causes have been identified that Rotarians and their partner organisations focus on. Read More…
