I'm learning more and more about Rotary in this year of planning and preparation for my year leading our District in 10 months time.

Currently, I am in Penrith, west of Sydney, at the Rugby League club HQ for the Penrith Panthers. Its great to be here with DG Martin and Denise and DGN Marion and Mike to build our understanding of Rotary leadership and programs to continue to shape the future of our Clubs, District and our Rotary organisation.

I am looking forward to my year leading our District but in doing so the planning and preparation is now taking action with my identification of Rotarians who will lead our Clubs as Presidents Elect, lead our Clusters of Clubs as Assistant Governors and roles supporting the clubs locally by appointing Rotarians to be part of our District committes to support our Clubs, and to lead and chair our District committees.

This month I will be calling on all our members of Rotary Clubs, Rotaract and Interact Clubs, District Committees and District Chairs to look to confirm those being appointed to these roles and the planning and delivery of the necessary training to prepare our team for the 2017-18 year.

I want to offer all Rotarians the opportunity to provide their current interest, skills and abilities to roles to support the District, but most importantly contribute to the direction and delivery of Rotary programs and actions in our District through your Club.

This years District Learning and Development committee will be promoting opportunities to attend training and learning events, receive information that will grow our skill, knowledge and capabilities in our Clubs, District committees and District roles.

So if you are keen to offer me your knowledge, skills and abilities and be part of the team I lead in our District in the 2017-18 year, please email me your interest at  firemitch1964@gmail.com

and get ready to "Go WILD about Rotary!"
