Recently Linda Wellington, Past President of Port Nicholson club, had much delight in handing over a brand new state of the art coin operated clothes dryer to The House of Grace in Newlands.

The House of Grace is a sanctuary and place of learning with a range of programmes to help young women prepare for childbirth and successful parenting. There is an emphasis on developing practical life skills and plans for a confident future.e  for a bright future.
One of the long standing wishes of the founder, Treena VanRijssel,   was to have a coin operated clothes dryer.  Why coin operated you may ask?  Well this will encourage the young mothers to hang their washing on the line when it's fine and save power. This is all part of helping to develop the life skills to ready them for when they leave the comfort and security of The House of Grace and step out into the world of parenthood.

The clothes dryer was purchased by Port Nicholson Rotary utilising a generous donation from a member.
