Looking back and looking forward.
This month is Membership and Club Development Month.  Where does it fit into Rotary’s five year strategic plan to :
  • increase our impact,
  • expand our reach,
  • enhance participant engagement, and
  • increase our ability to adapt?
As People of Action take a look at Priorities 3 and 4 and consider what they could mean for your group.
Looking forward
24 October End Polio Day
15 - 17 May 2020 - Rotary District 9940 Conference
Looking forward it is time to bookmark 24 October as End Polio Now Day.  We are going to need all of you to make our ‘Ride the Train To End Polio’ plan work.  A copy of the plan has been sent to everyone.
Even further out, May 2020 we have the Rotary District 9940 Conference at the Lower Hutt Events Centre.  Note the new dates of 15-17 May, 2020

Looking back into District 9940’s history we can see how we have helped shape Rotary in New Zealand and the Pacific.  We need to help our historian Dr Stephen Clarke drstephenclarkenz@gmail.com get the stories he needs. Help us get the credit we deserve by sharing our milestones with him.  Who was the first woman Rotarian in D9940 ?  What did we do in 1988?  Are the claims on the website below all true  https://www.rotarywaitakere.org.nz/rotary-in-nz/ ?  What is missing?

This month Lane and I continue with our DG visits to clubs.  We completed seven last month, each one was quite unique, all were special, engaging and memorable.  We are clearly comprised of diverse groups who share the core values of Rotary.

Kia kaha
Kia manawanui
