Celebrating Diwali
  During the last week several Rotary Clubs have celebrated Diwali -  A Hindu Festival of Light. Rotary celebrates diversity.
 AG for Hutt 2 cluster - Leole Malama-Prasad and husband Raj send everyone their best wishes and look forward to exciting times for the new Hindu year.
 You both look wonderful - proud Rotarians. 
Polio update 2018

World Polio Day in October has been and gone with some great events held in District but  we are not yet “Polio Free” with YTD cases this year 20, 16 in Afghanistan and the other 4 in Pakistan.

 Polio does still exist! Is it curable!

We remember our fallen soldiers - 100yrs

At 11am on 11 November this year, Aotearoa New Zealand  marked the centenary of the armistice that ended the First World War in 1918. On that day 100 years ago, after four years of brutal conflict, war finally gave way to peace.

Polio fundraising success

A big thankyou to all of the clubs around the District who have raised money for Polio. The film Bohemian Rhapsody has been a huge success.

Riding for the Disabled

Indoor rowing fundraiser giving hope to Whanganui children like Harry.

   An upcoming indoor rowing fundraising is giving hope to children like Whanganui-born Harry Middleton who lives with autism but has found joy through riding horses. The 10-year-old joined Whanganui's Riding for Disabled Association (RDA) totally non-verbal and struggling to cope with day-to-day life spent this first five weeks at RDA throwing sand, screaming, taking his clothes off and ignoring the horses," RDA's Sally Gray said.  But within six weeks Harry found the courage to hop on a horse and not long after whispered two words that gave his mother some peace: "Harry's Ok", he said.
