Rotary Clubs of Greater Wellington Free Ambulance Charitable Trust
The Trust was established to raise funds for Wellington Free Ambulance and assist with the purchase of capital items. Most recently in 2016 funds were raised to fund the fit out of equipment for a new ambulance.

Wellington Free Ambulance provides the only free ambulance service in New Zealand. Paramedics respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of a year and provide invaluable and often lifesaving help nearly 60,000 times a year.

One of the founders of Wellington Free Ambulance was Sir Charles Norwood who was an early Rotary pioneer in Wellington.  Today the ambulance service needs support from throughout the community to be able to undertake the tremendous work it does.

Many clubs throughout District 9940 have supported Wellington Free Ambulance for many years often by way of donations to assist with ongoing operating costs.

The Trust is another way to support the great work Wellington Free Ambulance does and coordinates the accumulation of funds from clubs for the purchase of major capital items vital for its operation and provides recognition of Rotary.

Currently the Trust is fund raising to equip 15 front line ambulances each with a mobile ultrasound to further improve the level of service provided. Any assistance with this fund raising would be greatly appreciated.
