In April 2022, the Government updated the legislation for Incorporated Societies - ie all our Rotary Clubs.
Effectively the new Act brings together all the case law, custom and practice etc since 1908, when the previous Act became law. In doing so the new Act specifies a number of things that Incorporated Societies may well have been doing, but now must do, initially to satisfy the requirements of the reregistration process and on-going to maintain that registration.
These are major changes that affect every Rotary Club. In broad terms, every Rotary Club must re-register by April 2026. This involves a completely new Rotary Club Constitution that is currently being finalised for all clubs in NZ.
The purpose of this page is to be the "home" for all the information that Club Officers and members need to know and provide guidance, advice and instructions on what actions and when, Rotary Clubs in our district need to take. It will also provide links to documents that clubs will need to download and complete.
There is a page with Q & A and a link to submit questions - and even answers to some questions. Please use it.
The update section below is designed to alert clubs to new or updated information, advice, instructions or documents that have been added to these pages. From this update, it will link you to the relevant (menu) section.
Update 1, 11 April 2024
To introduce this matter to all Clubs and Club Officers to alert you to those requirements so that you and your members can prepare to meet them before you start the reregistration process.
Please make an effort to familiarise yourself with the information in the sections shown in the side menu.
There will be opportunities to talk more about reregistration at Learning Impact #3 – District Assembly on 4 May at Feilding High School. Meanwhile, please let me have your feedback on the Updates, what you want from them and any contributions you might like to make to them.
